Marketing the Region

The Commission promotes the region via monthly e-news and continues to engage the wider community and keep readers up to date with Commission activities and successes. The e-news is distributed to over 500 subscribers and the website continues to be the first port of call with a plethora of useful information. The Commission also utilises social media to promote the Wheatbelt. Over 200 people follow us on Twitter. 

The ‘Friends of the Wheatbelt' functions are held annually in Perth, bringing together State Government agencies, relevant Members of Parliament and regional businesses for information sharing and networking opportunities. Past themes have included 'The Wheatbelt is open for business', 'The World loves the Wheatbelt', Wheatbelt Opportunities' and 'Blueprint for the Future'. 

The Commission continues its work with Heartlands Western Australia Inc and its goals to attract and retain labour, business, industry and investment to the region. The Heartlands WA web portal provides significant regional information including jobs, residential/industrial land sales and investment opportunities.
