Two leading Wheatbelt businesses went up against the best of the best at the 31st annual Western Australian Industry and Export Awards (WAIEA).

The awards attracted a strong field of 144 applications from 47 businesses, seeking recognition in 17 award categories.

AGRIFresh was a finalist in the Agribusiness, Food and Beverages Award category. This family owned and operated business includes a citrus orchard and a mango orchard strategically located in Badgingarra in the Shire of Dandaragan.

Fewster’s Farm Honey was a finalist in the Regional Exporter Award category. This family business is over 100 years old and one of the world’s biggest producers and suppliers of Jarrah honey, harvested from bee hives in the ancient Jarrah forests of Western Australia.

The Awards acknowledge our state’s forward thinking companies and their contribution to economic diversity. Coordinated by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation and managed by the Export Council of Australia, the awards recognise and honour the “best of the best” in Western Australian business.
