The Wheatbelt weather provided a very cool morning for Scott Guerini to commence his annual Great Walk for Telethon.

On 3 June, Scott (13 years old) set out to complete his 6th Marathon and 10th Walk for Telethon. For the past 10 years Scott has been dedicated to raising money for sick kids. Scott starting walking the Koolyanobbing Road to Southern Cross at just age 4 back in 2010 and has raised over $155,000 for Telethon.

Scott’s younger brother Damien has walked one Marathon with Scott but now prefers to ride his push bike out the front setting the pace. This was his third year setting the pace for Scott. This year’s Marathon was completed in record time; 7 hours which is an improvement of 47 minutes on last year’s walk.

Scott has written and illustrated his own book, ‘Did you know you can change the World?’ and twenty dollars from each book sale goes to Telethon. There are also other merchandise items available on his website including desk calendars and t-shirts.

Mineral Resources, Koolyanobbing has been an avid supporter of Scott’s Walk for Telethon and this year employees again met Scott out on his walk to present him with a cheque and walk with him for a while. View Mineral Resources article here…
