Retailer, farmers and manufacturing combine to deliver knitwear

The Williams Woolshed has recently launched a range of knitwear garments and accessories in store and online, made from wool sourced from the Williams area.
Williams wool is the first of AWN’s Direct Network Advantage programs in WA. The locally produced wool is processed in China and New Zealand, knitted into garments in Melbourne before returning to Williams for sale to the public at the Williams Woolshed.
Jumpers, pullovers, ponchos, scarves and beanies being sold under the MerinoSnug label are knitted on state-of-the-art computer controlled knitting machines.
Four short videos have been developed to help market Williams wool products and sell wool into the program through the Australian Wool Network (AWN) and its WA affiliate, Dyson Jones.
The local woolgrowers include Glen Ford, Fordco; Stuart and Andrew Rintoul, Dongiemon and Tilba Tilba Merino studs; John and Jo MacNamara, Westmere Farming Co; and Noel and Sandra Fowler, Rapanui.
The product launch was perfectly timed for Christmas. With a good range of products across different price points, local, interstate and international tourists are all target markets.
