On the 6 February 2019, new equipment and processes were put to the test at the new Northam Health Service emergency department during the transition from the old emergency department to the new facility.

The move was smooth and incident free thanks to dedicated staff and a detailed plan. Patient feedback to staff has been very complimentary particularly noting the bigger and brighter waiting areas and spacious patient care bays.

With more upgrades and improvements currently underway and more scheduled to be completed by the end of 2019, the redevelopment of the Northam Health Service is transforming care for Northam and surrounding communities.

The Northam Health Service redevelopment is part of a $1.5 billion modernisation program being delivered by the WA Country Health Service to improve health services across regional Western Australia. "The opening of the new emergency department at Northam is another step closer towards the $42 million refurbishment of the Northam Health Service.” Said Minister for Health, Hon Roger Cook.

Northam Health Service is located at 50 Robinson Street, Northam, phone: 9690 1300.
