Local MP Mia Davies MLA hosted a recent Wheatbelt visit by the Minister for Regional Development, Hon Terry Redman MLA, over two days. They were also accompanied by Martin Aldridge MLC and Paul Brown MLC.
“It’s been a great opportunity to familiarise Terry with some of the key issues in the electorate and we managed to pack a considerable amount in,” Ms Davies said.
“Terry was impressed with the level of cooperation between Local Governments to deliver projects, saying it made sense in a region with a highly dispersed population.”
The group visited the Dryandra Aged Care facility in Kellerberrin and met with the Central East Aged Care Alliance, a group of eleven local governments in the eastern Wheatbelt working on innovative aged care housing solutions for the region.
They also attended the official opening of the Wyalkatchem Community Resource Centre ‘The Bushel’, met with the Wheatbelt East Regional Organisation of Councils in Merredin and attended a Wheatbelt Business Network question and answer sundowner.
Visits were also made to Cunderdin and Northam.
