Grants are now available up to the value of $500,000 for improving connectivity to the many farming enterprises and associated stakeholders in Western Australia’s agricultural and pastoral regions. The aim of this is to provide regional businesses with fast, reliable, affordable and scalable connectivity solutions.
Minister for Agriculture and Food, Alannah MacTiernan said: “The lack of fast and reliable connectivity in agricultural and pastoral WA is holding back our farm businesses; it’s a roadblock to uptake of 21st century agtech.”
“This fund will help kick-start investment-ready digital connectivity proposals, allowing for quick and efficient rollout of digital infrastructure to get farm businesses better connected.”
The Digital Farm program was conceived after input from the Minister’s Digital Connectivity Forum held in July 2017.
