Board membership call for nominations

Vacancies exist for appointments to the Board of the Wheatbelt Development Commission.
The Wheatbelt Development Commission is a Statutory Authority established under the Regional Development Commissions Act 1993. Its purpose is to promote balanced economic and social development in the Wheatbelt region.
The Commission's objectives include maximising job creation, broadening local economies, identifying the need for infrastructure and services, providing information and advice to business and ensuring equitable access to government services. The Wheatbelt Development Commission also promotes and facilitates effective partnerships between government and regional communities.
The Commission is seeking nominations from highly motivated and enthusiastic people, with the following experience:
- Understanding of key issues impacting the development of the Region;
- Demonstrated involvement in the economic and/or social development of the Region; and
- The ability to work cooperatively to achieve agreed goals across a wide range of issues and stakeholders.
People may nominate themselves or others, organisations may also nominate individuals. Terms of appointment will be from one to three years.
The Minister for Regional Development, Hon Alannah MacTiernan MLC will make the appointment to the Board after consultation with WA State Cabinet.
