Royalties for Regions
Royalties for Regions is a $6.5billion State Government program that is investing for a brighter future for regional Western Australia.
25% of mining and onshore petroleum royalties are reinvested into regional WA each year to achieve the goal of building strong and vibrant regional communities that are desirable places to live.
This additional investment is directed to projects that help build regional communities and all decisions are underpinned by six principles:
- Building capacity in regional communities
- Retaining benefits in regional communities
- Improving services to regional communities
- Attaining sustainability
- Expanding opportunity
- Growing prosperity.
The Wheatbelt Development Commission’s Wheatbelt Regional Grants Scheme is one of many programs under the Royalties for Regions banner. To find out more about the Royalties for Regions expenditure in the Wheatbelt, please see the Royalties for Regions Progress Report 2013 - 14.
