Board Membership - Call for Nominations
The Wheatbelt Development Commission is seeking nominations to fill one community position on the Wheatbelt Development Commission Board.
The WDC is a Statutory Authority established under the Regional Development Commission Act 1993. Its purpose is to promote balanced economic and social development in the Wheatbelt region.
Its objectives include maximising job creation, broadening local economies, identifying the need for infrastructure and services, providing information and advice to business and ensuring equitable access to government services. The Wheatbelt Development Commission also promotes and facilities effective partnerships between government and regional communities.
Applicants will be considered against the following criteria: Understanding of key issues impacting the development of the Region; a demonstrated involvement in either the economic, and/or social development of the Region; and the ability to work cooperatively to achieve agreed goals across a wide range of issues and stakeholders.
People may nominate themselves or others, organisations may also nominate individuals. Terms of appointment will range up to three years. To be eligible for the community position, nominees must live in the Wheatbelt Region.
The Minister for Regional Development, Hon Alannah MacTiernan MLC will make the appointment to the Board after consultation with WA State Cabinet.
