The role of the Commission is to coordinate and promote economic development in the region. Details of the Commissions purpose and priorities can be found at www.wheatbelt.wa.gov.au
The Minister for Regional Development will make the appointments to the Board.
People may nominate themselves or others; organisations may also nominate individuals. Prospective nominees should possess interest and knowledge relevant to Wheat belt regional priorities.
Applicants will be considered against the following criteria: Understanding of key issues impacting the development of the region; a demonstrated involvement in either the economic, and/or social development of the region; and the demonstrated ability to work cooperatively to achieve agreed goals across a wide range of issues and stakeholders.
Terms of appointment will range up to three years.
